A page turning announcement...

Blogging has been at the bottom of my list of late, but I've come out of perpetual blog hiding to make an announcement which I will not revoke.

In September of 2013 I wrote a blog telling everyone who read it that I was doing something I had wanted to do for years: Write a book. Instead of doing it, I placed my finger on the delete button shortly after I began, and hid the story in my heart instead. I broke my own rule, one of the rules I endeavor never to break: I went back on my word.

On August 1st, 2016 I reignited that promise, and this time, I will not break it.
On August 14, 2016 The work received its title, courtesy of my favorite teenager in the world. Most will tell you that a great writer never titles a work until it's finished, but this time, I made an exception. It is my hope that every person has experienced the genuine wisdom and opinions of 14 year old people. Thank you, Elizabeth, for being, in your own words "the apprentice".
*No, I'm not going to tell you the title. You'll have to wait :)

Here's what I will tell you:

1) If all goes as I hope it will, the first copy of this finished work will be in the hands of my first reader on March 25, 2017.

2) Right now I'm sitting at the local starbucks in a hoodie, shaking a little, because I know I have to do it this time, and I will.

3) If you know me, you know that I have strong opinions about the impact of social media on relationships/our youth. So, at the end of August/early September, I will be disabling (not deleting) all social media accounts in an effort to create authentic time and space until I have accomplished what I have said I would do. *I will pop on on my birthday in December, and to wish you all a Merry Christmas*

4) I will potentially send out updates via email. If you want to be included in that list, please notify me via Facebook (before the first week of September) or text.

5) If you have been an active part of my life, there is a chance you may see yourself in this work. Please notify me if you are opposed to that.

I guess that sums it up...

Take care of yourselves, and plant seeds everywhere you go,

~C
